Description

This boat tour leaves Drake Bay at 6:30/7:15am and leads you into the “Terraba-Sierpe National Humid Forest Reserve”. This mangrove forest and swamps covers about 220sq Km and is the largest protected mangrove area in Central America.

While you are floating through different mangrove canals, your naturalist guide will point out wildlife such as Crocodiles, Caimans, Turtles, Monkeys or even sloths. The Mangrove tour is a bird watchers paradise as you can see a large variety of birds such as the magnificent frigate, cormorant, booby, anhinga, mangrove hummingbird, yellow billed cotinga, and many, many more.

This tour makes a stop in the port-town of Sierpe where you will have time for shop some souvenirs or uses the bathroom. We return from this adventure around 1pm.

What to wear:

Comfortable clothes, sandals or shoes, hat.

What to bring:

Own bottle of water, sun block, mosquito spray, dry bag(depending on the season) binoculars and of course your camera.
